Pellissippi Parkway Extension (SR 162) — Federal Funding

Included in TDOT's 10-Year Project Plan under Gov. Bill Lee's $3.3B Transportation Modernization Act (December 2023). Extends SR 162 from SR 33 to US 321/SR 73 as a new four-lane controlled-access highway. Right-of-way acquisition: FY 2032. Construction start: FY 2036. An additional $10M STBG allocation was approved September 2025 to advance right-of-way work.

Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) American Rescue Plan (ARP) grant awarded to Blount County for collaborative utility projects — including Townsend Utility District (TUD) — including a second pipeline serving Townsend.

These minutes are Exhibit I in the February 2025 letter opposing the Hatcher/Stinnett de-annexation bills. Documents Daniels' stated commitments to collaborative decision-making and community input — commitments that were subsequently contradicted by the de-annexation legislation.
